To begin with, you have to understand that the universe runs on a set of internally-consistent rules. Magic varies across worlds- you can see that in how Nirrti and I do magic differently. But there are some rules that remain constant throughout all magic.
One of those is the rule of 'karma', as I have described before. Every action has a cost. You might not personally pay that cost, but someone, somewhere will. The universe always balances itself out in the end.
Another rule, and the important one for this story is the dead stay dead. You cannot revive someone who has died.
...to clarify, the reason why Nirrti was able to 'revive' Akira-kun here is that he wasn't fully 'dead'. His body was, but his soul was still here in the mansion. That's also why the Foundation is able to 'revive' people in a sense: as long as the soul remains and doesn't enter the cycle of reincarnation, the person isn't truly dead, and their soul can be shoved into another body. 'Death' in this case refers to death of the soul.

...I suspect he would have said he loved her, if he had known the words to put to those feelings at that time. But regardless, he cared for her a lot, and would have done anything for her.
Sakura-chan, she was destined to die at age 14. And Syaoran saw her in the moment of her death. But in that moment, when she was about to die, his heart cried out in a single wish: 'please, I don't want her to die!'
And that's when he answered. I won't say his name, but he was a powerful sorcerer, one who had the power to grant wishes, just like I do. He heard Syaoran's wish, and he decided to grant it.
Reviving someone from the dead isn't technically impossible, but the results damage the universe. That's why it's taboo. And when Syaoran made that wish, he broke that taboo, and the universe was cracked. And since the universe has a habit of self-correcting, the price of that wish had to be paid, and it was a hefty one. Syaoran had to be removed from the stream of time entirely, giving up everything for the sake of that wish, in order to prevent further damage.
But he couldn't be removed from the universe without something else being left behind to fill that void. It would have caused more damage to the universe, as the universe would have tried to self-correct and fill that void. So, I was created to fill it instead.
That's the relationship between Syaoran and I: I am a copy of him, but at the same time I'm my own person. Because of how I was created, our lives are connected intrinsically. It had some rather unfortunate side-effects, and it really was a rush job to keep the universe from being damaged, but it is what it is.
Syaoran has a big heart. I told him to be careful, to really consider his feelings, but...for him to say something, he must have decided that he had room for both of you.

...yes. I once compared our situation to all of the Akiras in the Foundation, but it's deeper than that: we literally are the same person, the same existence. Not even just 'both Syaoran from different worlds', but the same person from the same world.
We have grown apart a little, partially out of necessity for both of us to keep existing, but that doesn't change the fact that we are the same person. We think similarly, we act similarly, and we know each other in a way that probably doesn't make sense to most people. So for him to disregard that connection and truly, honestly ask if I only saw him as a Piece, it hurt. It hurt a lot.
I see... I think I understand how it happened better now. If you feel that way for him then... his feelings were probably the same.
Only now you're a Witch. You ARE different from him in a very important way. That... had to be terrifying. I can understand wanting reassurance, even if it was in the worst way possible.
