[After all the shit he's gone through, he's not dying like that.

But he does sit on his bed and focus. And he waits. And waits. And waits.

[Shadow watches, then takes a seat and closes his own eyes, searching for that inner place. It had gotten so easy.

But now, only darkness and his own thoughts.

Watanuki pops his eye open, but Shadow doesn't. Still, he shakes his head]

He's going to use a crystal ball to peer in to his own dreams, and he'll see that the shop isn't where it should be. And Watanuki is absolutely baffled by that.]

[Shadow stands up and peeks around Watanuki to look into the ball] Eh? Why is the shop in a town now? Who is that? .... It never ceases to amaze me how little control you have over your own soul, Kimihiro.

It's not about control, Shadow. The shop is designed to go where it's needed. And if this person needs the shop so much that it can't wait a couple weeks, then the shop will go there.

[chaoscontrol]

So... this person needs something so badly that the shop just... appeared for them? [he's going to have to... really figure out a lot of stuff about how all this works] Well that's too bad for him, isn't it? The wish granter isn't there right now.

That's generally how it works, yes. The shop goes where it's needed.

Definitely not. But this one doesn't look familiar... He's not like the rest of you, I don't think he was brought to that world by that machine.

So a native of the Foundation's world...And definitely with the Foundation by the sound of it. [Shadow listens more, narrowing his eyes as he does] So... they're going to have some sort of kangaroo court... but they put it on hold because all we 6350 D-class went AWOL? I have no clue what or who they're putting on trial, but it probably isn't good.

Well, it might be me that they were more concerned with. They did see me there. Also Anon ate one of their ghost-people, and that's pretty serious.

I'd like to think they're missing me, too, but that might just be my ego speaking. Also... one of the... shinigami?

[foundfate]

Yeah, the people in black. And...

[he trails off there, watching as the bodies suddenly appear. He doesn't look exasperated or anything, though. He's actually smiling.]

Well, look at that. They got him to pay the price after all.

[Shadow also trails off as the bodies come tumbling through the door]

Those are.... the fake bodies we need to revive the dead! So the price for his wish was... bringing those?

It seems so. I guess I'll give them a push in the right direction.

[He waves his hand over the ball, and a yellow cockatiel appears and starts interacting with the people there.]

... Oh hey, the bird's back.

Mostly. It still could use a better resolution.

... I'm glad.

[Shadow won't say anything else about the bird, though!!! HE REFUSES]

Hm... [he leans in, squinting at the crystal ball] Is this how you grant wishes? With weird useless items? I mean, what have we got here... nuts? Nasty old bandages? And a book...

[Uh huh, sure.]

It's not just offering him 'useless items'. It's about possibilities.

Those are marroni chestnuts. Many months ago, at a certain summer camp in Michigan, a young necromancer named Marona- [Pronounced the same as 'marroni', despite the spelling difference when written.] -was saved when she could have been left to die. The group about to stand trial is the same as the one which saved her. Someone with powers like hers would be useful for saving those 'John' wishes to save, as she could collect the souls of those on trial after they die and revive them later.

The bandages represent the man who will be running the trial. He is a cold, dangerous man, one whose blood runs mafia-black. If he is allowed to run this trial, those involved will perish. But if 'John' could take care of him, to cut off the threat at the source, the ones about to be put on trial could be spared.

The magic book represents his own innate skill. He has the power to save them all on his own, it's just a matter of getting creative. He might need a push to actually figure it out, but if he steps up and intervenes then those on trial will likely help him with the 'creative' part.

All three are valid options to solve this boy's problem. Now it's a matter of which one they will suggest to him.

[A necromancer? Kind of like the Shinigami, then, in a way. The man running the trial... well, he could be anyone in the Foundation, to be honest. Shadow certainly doesn't have rose-colored glasses on about the kind of people the Foundation employs and how they perceive those from 6350... even some of the 6350s themselves are cruel to their fellow offworlders.]

I see... so they're just... representations of differing solutions to this upcoming problem. [Shadow doesn't seem happy about the whole thing, though. He doesn't have many, if any, friends in the Foundation but he doesn't want to see them get executed for the crimes of... you know. Being kidnapped against their wills] ... Makes me glad I'm not going back. [....?]
