But it occurred to me: while I have been polite to you, I haven't exactly been a good friend to you.

I admit some of it is on my end, I am - a man that is bad at being personable unless it aids me in a case.

[He holds a hand up to his own chest, and for a moment, Ruler's view of Watanuki will shift. And he will be able to see several glowing souls sitting in Watanuki's chest.]

[His breath catches in his throat for a moment, as he processes what he's seeing, peridot-green eyes widening as he sees it]

So they're in you, to keep them from getting lost... are they aware?

Before I became the Witch of Dimensions, I had powers of my own. One of those powers is the power of a 'dreemseer'. Not only do I see the future in my dreams, but I can also use my dreams as a physical location for traveling and having meetings with other dreemseers. It wasn't too hard to drag their souls in there for a 'meeting', once I knew how my connection to everyone worked.

The real 'them' are aware, deep inside my dreams, where Nirrti can't reach them. Their 'bodies' out here, however, are not. And I would like to keep it that way.

So the pillars are basically riding the bodies, while their souls are within a dream.

[Better than the alternative of being trapped in someone's body and not being able to do anything]

That's also why I disappear so often: I have to be asleep to communicate with them, so I find places in this mansion to tuck myself away and nap for a couple hours at a time.

[Not all of them have been terrible, but he has certainly dreamed about a certain idiot archer more than a few times.]

I will warn you that I can be a difficult friend, though I suppose I don't have much room to talk.

It would be better if I could just choose the dreams to show you, when we end up sharing. I'm a dream seer, I should be able to do that.
